Who we are

Taylor Made Services (TMS) is a computer services provider primarily providing FileMaker database development services, but also some web hosting and email services.

We are active in the FileMaker development community and belong to the FileMaker Business Alliance, FileMaker Technical Network, and the local chapter of the FileMaker Users Group (FMPUG).

We specialize in designing reasonably priced secure FileMaker database servers for small businesses, primarily using the Mac Mini with Mac OS X Server system. This system supports database hosting, web services, email services, DNS, calendaring, Open Directory, and more. Even for offices that primarily utilize Microsoft Windows client machines, this is a good solution to host the server on that is a less virus vulnerable platform with built in backup software.

We have a special appreciation for the Mac platform, but equally support both Windows and Mac platforms for FileMaker database development.

TMS Developers

Taylor Sharpe is the proprietor and has been developing FileMaker databases since 1986 (FileMaker Plus back then). Mr. Sharpe has experience setting up FileMaker Servers both on Windows Servers and Mac OS X servers. Additionally, he is knowledgeable in Mac OS X Server configurations for DNS, email, Open Directory and web services.

Lawrence Jenkins is a FileMaker developer with a background in the Windows Platform and other database engines. He brings a good balance of Windows knowledge to our database development.

DA Sharpe is a FileMaker developer primarily focused in the client portion of database development working on reports and user interfaces. He is also knowledgeable in general accounting principles.

Target Audience

We focus on small to mid-sized businesses that have need of a mission critical custom database. Our customers are primarily located in the Dallas, Fort Worth and North Texas areas.

TMS has been in business since 1979, is located in Dallas, Texas, and is a proprietorship owned by Taylor Sharpe.

Lotus Notes Structured file format conversion to Tab Delimited (first record with field names) for import back into FileMaker. If you are using a Lotus Notes Domino file, just export the file as a Structured file and save it as "Data.txt" on your desktop. That file will be imported and then converted to a file called "Data.tab", which you can then import back into FileMaker. This export assumes the first field name in the Notes file is in all records. This was made with FileMaker 10, but I believe it should work back to version 8.5. Shareware $20.

Xerox 8400 or 8500 printer cost database. You can download this data from the printer and import it into this database to analyze the cost of each print job. Free database (unlocked).
